Eve LaxerEve Laxer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Private Independent Practitioner. She is a co-founder and remains the Director of STRONGGirls and The Art of Girl-Building, a prevention program for pre-teen girls. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts and her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Tennessee. Ms. Laxer has worked with adolescents, families and individuals for 22 years in residential, outpatient, private practice and educational settings. She incorporates a variety of creative arts in her therapeutic practice. She also develops innovative programs for staffs of other organizations and creative arts workshops for adolescents and mothers & daughters and seniors. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama and supervises Social Work practicums and LGSWs working towards LCSW licensure. “Creative expression heals. We continue to see girls and family members use creative arts and mind-body exercises as part of the therapy process to move beyond their own limits and imagine new possibilities. This work is truly inspiring!”

Toyeya Tucker, STRONGGirls Counselor at Creative WellnessToyeya Tucker is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked with girls and their families in STRONGGirls since 2003. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Agency Counseling. Ms Tucker has worked with intellectually and physically disabled adults for over 15 yeqrs. She is currently the Program Community Coordinator for STRONGGirls. “My passion is to help young girls and educate them so they know they can be something in life other than a statistic and that their past does NOT dictate their future.”

Anjanette Burkett Robinson, STRONGGirls Counselor at Creative WellnessAnjanette Burkett Robinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. She has worked with girls and their families in STRONGGirls since 2009. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. Mrs. Robinson has worked with children, teens and families for more than 21 years. She has vast knowledge working with children and teens with autism spectrum disorders. She is currently the case manager for the STRONGGirls Program. “Working with the STRONGGirls program confirms for me the reason I became a counselor. Watching each group of girls learn, grow and become stronger while laughing, creating and loving themselves has been priceless!”

Anita Jordan, STRONGGirls Counselor at Creative WellnessAnita Jordan has worked with STRONGGirls for six years. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Mrs. Jordan has worked extensively with individuals and families as a counselor and case manager with local community agencies for more than six years. “I am proud to be one of the facilitators for the STRONGGirls Parent’s Group!”
